City of Refuge

Three words grabbed my attention today: "city of refuge". I'm wanting to go hide out there right now.

God's Word tells me in Hebrews 6:18-19 that Jesus is my "city of refuge" and those "who have fled to him for refuge can have great confidence as we hold to the hope that lies before us. This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls."

Hiding in Him again today.

As I shared my heart with a friend the other morning, I told her how the Lord is giving me strength while I'm at the hospital, but I come home and collapse in tears. She reminded me of a song. It is my story right now.

Don't doubt for one second Joy that He has you. He has His arms wrapped around you tightly and He WILL NOT LET GO. He loves you, you are His! He is catching those tears, He is hearing your heart and He knows the roller coaster of emotions that are running through you...He created you!

I am praying hard for you right now!

Dearest Joyful,
You are deep in my heart right now. Our lives are exactly the same right now. My Father in Law has been in the hospital since last Thursday. The Dr told us he most likely wont make it. However we are seeing some slight improvement over the last 2 days. My husband left CA to fly to Idaho to be with his father. My daughter and I have been here in CA praying for God's plans for our family. I know they are good plans but its been a hard week for all involved. His kidneys were failing him as his lungs and heart.
I have already prayed for you this morning and will continue. Your blog was such a blessing with that video from Twila Paris. You are a strong, wise women. Your a blessing on Wendy Popes blog also. Im keeping 1Peter 1:6 in mind: There is wonderful joy ahead even though you have to endure many trials.I pray for Christ Peace for you and your family!
Heartfelt and Sincere,
Debra Z

I LOVE this song. I sang it with my mom when I was little! God be with you!

Joyful, I read your post on Lysa's blog and wanted to pray for you. God is faithful. I believe in Hebrews it tells us that faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. He will never leave you or forsake you, not with the awful things going on right now or ever. You may never understand why you are dealing with this situation, but remember to trust that God's love for you, your family and your daddy is a perfect perfect love. Every moment you are in that hospital praying the Lord hears you and handfuls of people are seeing Who you have your faith in. Rest in the Lord, dear sister.
